The 5K project
We all know that we should get out and exercise more and when we see people clad in their running gear and pounding the pavement we may be tempted to give it a go. A lot of people try and a lot of people give up because they start off too fast. You end up weary, aching and depressed. You should start gently and build your running slowly.
That is what this programme is designed to do.
In fact this programme isn’t all running. You will find that it is a combination of running and walking designed to get you up to running 5K in about half an hour at the end of a two month schedule.
Learning Outcomes for this module include:
Offer ways of gradually building up exercise and how to do that safely
Advise on safety measures that should be taken when exercising
