STOMP
Do you support autistic people or people living with learning disabilities? Are you concerned about the amount of medication they are being given? Are you concerned about the long-term effects of these drugs? STOMP stands for Stop Over Medication of People with learning disabilities, autism or both.
In this module, you’ll look at what the STOMP campaign is trying to achieve, why people have been over medicated, how people should be supported and what to do if you think someone is being over medicated.
Learning Outcomes for this module include:
- Understand what STOMP is and the reason for its conception
- Tools on how to support people with their medication and what you should do if you have concerns
- Learn the factors that may have influence over the medication and the side effects of these medications
