Newborn Basic Life Support: Level 2

This course is for qualified healthcare professionals involved in the care and delivery of a newborn baby. Make sure that you have completed the Resuscitation: Level 1 course.
Newborn resuscitation is a specialist skill. Resuscitation of newborn babies is different from the resuscitation of all other age groups, therefore good knowledge and understanding of newborn physiology is essential.
Learning Outcomes for this module include:
This module looks at why a newborn baby may need help to breathe normally as well as examining national guidelines and local policies and procedures. It outlines the steps to follow when assessing and resuscitating a baby at birth and finally what needs to be recorded and how.
