Information Governance: Level 1 – 40mins
Information governance, sometimes known as IG, is the way in which the NHS handles all of its information, in particular the personal and sensitive information relating to patients, clients and employees. This module covers the key principles of information governance, the duty of confidentiality and record keeping.
Information Governance: Level 2 – 60mins
Information governance refers to how organisations handle or process information, for example about patients and employees. It provides a framework for managing identifiable, confidential information to comply with statutory, mandatory and ethical standards.
This course is for healthcare professionals involved in routine access to information as part of their role. It looks at the principles of information governance, the responsibilities of healthcare organisations under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, how to handle FOI requests and the principles of good record keeping.
