Influencing change
Given the weight of scientific evidence around climate change and the apparent lack of global commitment to turn the tide, it is easy to become despondent. We are after all in the midst of an environmental emergency.
“Take a deep breath and decide that collectively we can do this, and that you will play your part. You will be a hopeful visionary for humanity through these dark days. From this moment despair ends and tactics begin.”
To counter this ineptitude, we’ve seen the dawn of a new era of protest and political engagement. People around the world are taking to the streets to make their voice heard and to come together to influence change. Be it climate protest marches, environmental sit-ins, boycotts or strikes, people are refusing to take no for an answer. The younger generation in particular is embracing collaborative activism and inspiring others to get out and influence change.
