We are in the midst of a climate emergency. Despite pandemic lockdowns, greenhouse gas emissions hit a new high in 2020 and according to the latest report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), climate change is “widespread, rapid, and intensifying.” Scientists warn that without immediate rapid and large-scale reductions in emissions from human activities, we are on course for temperature rises far higher than the Paris Agreement target of 1.5%.
