Preventing Workplace Violence
The Preventing Workplace Violence lesson empowers employees to be able to recognize, speak up about, and respond to workplace violence.
First, learners receive actionable information on recognizing workplace violence and identifying warning signs that someone might act violently. Next, the course explores precautions that can be taken to prepare for workplace violence, including different strategies for responding to violent situations, depending on the circumstances. Finally, the course empowers learners to speak up immediately about concerns to help prevent violence from occurring.
This course contains jurisdiction-specific information for California employees and NY retail employees. It also contains role-based information for managers and supervisors around their particular responsibilities when it comes to preventing, addressing, and responding to workplace violence.
Please note, California employers will need to take additional steps (by adding organization-specific policies, customizing this training, and/or taking separate actions outside of an online training) to be consistent with all CA SB 553 training requirements.
