Preventing Workplace Harassment (US)
Preventing Workplace Harassment: US Edition provides employees and managers with the knowledge and best practices to recognize, prevent, and report behavior indicative of discrimination and harassment.
This course covers what constitutes harassment, including how to recognize unwelcome conduct and the role played by unconscious bias and microaggressions. Employees learn how to recognize and prevent harassment in the context of who might be a harasser and where and when it might take place (including online, after hours, and outside of the workplace). Employees receive instruction on recognizing and preventing workplace bullying and other abusive conduct that may not rise to the level of harassment, but which is still unacceptable in the workplace.
Next, the course covers how to identify harassment based on protected characteristics (race, religion, national origin, age, disability, sex, and other characteristics), as well as in-depth content on sexual harassment and the forms it can take (hostile environment and quid pro quo).
Additionally, the course empowers learners to help prevent workplace harassment by being an active bystander and to speak up about known or suspected workplace harassment.
This course uses branching technology to deliver the appropriate jurisdiction-specific content for Delaware, Maine, Illinois, and New York, and to deliver content specific to managers regarding their additional responsibilities when it comes to recognizing, preventing, and responding to harassment.
