Sexual Harassment at Work
We spend a lot of time at work – on average, about 24% of our lives.
Given the amount of time we spend here, it’s important that we work in an environment where we feel safe, not just from environmental hazards but also from our colleagues. One form of physical or verbal harassment that can occur in the workplace is sexual harassment.
In this module, we’ll look at:
- what we mean by sexual harassment (its definition)
- what constitutes sexual harassment (what it looks like)
- your roles and responsibilities, and those of the organisation you work for, if you experience or witness sexual harassment (what we can do about it)
- the impact and consequences of sexual harassment (why it’s so important to do something)
- how we can minimise and possibly prevent sexual harassment (the wider issue)
