Preventing Workplace Harassment (US) : CA, CT, and Chicago Manager Edition
“Preventing Workplace Harassment: CA, CT, and Chicago Manager Edition” covers what constitutes harassment, including how to recognize unwelcome conduct. The course includes content on how to recognize and prevent harassment in the context of who might be a harasser and where and when it might take place (including online, after hours, and outside of the workplace). Managers receive instruction on recognizing and preventing workplace bullying and other abusive conduct that may not rise to the level of harassment, but which is still unacceptable in the workplace.
Next, the course covers workplace equality and the role played by unconscious bias and microaggressions. Managers then learn to identify harassment based on protected characteristics (race, religion, national origin, age, disability, sex, and other characteristics), and see in-depth content on sexual harassment and the forms it can take (hostile environment and quid pro quo).
Managers receive instruction on accommodation and their responsibility to engage in an interactive accommodation process. The course concludes with sections on reporting in good faith, responding appropriately to harassment concerns, being an active bystander, and upholding an organizational commitment to non-retaliation.
This timed course is 2 hours long based on jurisdiction requirements.
Role: Throughout the course, learners are given clear direction on their specific managerial responsibilities in each area and how to uphold these responsibilities.
