Preventing Workplace Harassment and Violence (Canada)
Preventing Workplace Harassment and Violence: Canada Edition provides employees and managers with the knowledge and best practices to recognize, prevent, and report behavior indicative of discrimination, harassment, bullying, and violence.
This course covers what constitutes harassment, bullying, and violence, along with examples. Employees learn how to recognize these behaviors in the context of how they might appear (including subtle and indirect ways), who might engage in them, and where and when they might take place (including online, after hours, and outside of the workplace).
Next, the course covers harassment based on particular protected characteristics (race, religion, national origin, age, disability, sex, and other characteristics), as well as in-depth content on sexual harassment and the forms it can take (hostile working environment and abuse of authority).
The course then ensures learners know how to recognize warning signs of possible violence and various strategies for responding if workplace violence occurs.
Finally, the course empowers learners to be active bystanders and to speak up about known or suspected workplace harassment or violence.
This course uses branching technology to deliver content specific to managers regarding their additional responsibilities when it comes to preventing and responding to workplace harassment, bullying, and violence.
