Dysphagia Awareness for Care
Dysphagia describes eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties in children, young people and adults. Some people with dysphagia have difficulty swallowing certain foods or liquids, while others can’t swallow at all. Some people experience dysphagia for only a short period of time; others have it for longer or even for life.
In this module, you will find out about the signs and symptoms of dysphagia, who it affects, and the impact it has on their lives. You will look at managing the condition and at your role in supporting individuals who are living with dysphagia.
