Care Certificate – Standard 6: Communication
As a social care worker, you will communicate with people as you go about your job – you will communicate with your colleagues, your manager and the individuals you support. This module looks at the importance of effective communication as well as recognising and reducing barriers, and the importance of confidentiality. Care workers will understand the importance of effective communication. They’ll have an awareness of the different communication needs and barriers that exist and know how to deal with them. Users will understand the need for ensuring that a message has been understood. They’ll also know to keep service user information confidential in accordance with the highlighted legislation.
