SEND Module 3 Funding and Personal Budgets
This introduces funding provision within educational settings for children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) and also the different elements that may make up a personal budget.Learning Outcomes:
Learners will learn about the vision for a new way of supporting children and young people with SEND. They will know about different types of plans and coordination support that’s available and different types of dispute resolution you can access. They will also understand what the local officer contains, how it is organised, the principles behind it and where they can find it.
Learners will discover the thinking behind the SEND reforms and the approach everyone should be taking. They will know that children and young people with SEND can be supported without the need for an EHC plan. Learners will also know how an EHC needs assessment is carried out, what’s contained in an EHC plan, how it’s created and how EHC plan reviews are carried out.
Learners will learn how support for children and young people with additional needs is funded, the different elements that make up a personal budget and how these elements are designed to give families increased choice and control over the support they receive. Outcomes for this module include:
